Since your are installing it to the drive, you will have to install it
on an ext2 or ext3 partition or some other linux file system.

[1] At the end of the installation, the installer will ask you if you
want to install grub and if so where to place it. Select MBR [Master
Boot Record]

[2] You can move the disk around but it will only be detected by other
linux os's and in Windows if you are using the ExtFS friver for
windows
