Some time back had posted this mail and got some suggestions,

My brother , also a Ubuntu fan discovered Kontact and Korganizer - i too
installed it - and have to say its really a cool cool piece(s) of work.
does a fantastic job. Its quite comprehensive - planner, journal
reminder etc and the cool part is a Summary Page which is a good point
to start with daily
