Nope. In the past I have installed multiple DE/WM's and used Qt apps
with GNOME and vice versa. It could probably be some package which
might be requiring some KDE specific thing to be running. But first
you will have to mention what packages are you talking of and try to
execute them from terminal to get error messages, which will be useful
for finding the cause of the problem.
