[ubuntu-in] Sites not opening in Firefox 3.0 when Firestarter is running

Hi,
A couple of sites - slideshare.net and beta.indiawaterportal.org show
'connecting' on the status bar for a long time, but finally give the message
'address not found'. I have currently the updated version of Firefox running
on Ubuntu Intrepid 8.14.
I had Firestarter enabled, and it would detect a blocked connection whenever
I tried to connect to these sites. Opening Slideshare would detect a
connection to 174.36.28.11-static.reverse.softlayer.com and
beta.indiawaterportal.org would detect to 174.142.53.78 9
(lists.indiawaterportal.org). Even when I allow connection to these sites in
Firestarter settings, it does not work.
However, after I have removed Firestarter and restarted, the sites open in
Firefox.
I have filed a bug on Launchpad at https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/364436 ,
its perhaps a bug in Firestarter rather than Firefox, or a problem in my
local settings. Would you suggest any using other firewall software.
Would appreciate any help on this from the community.
Regards
Ashis
