Please enlighten me if I am mistaken. AFAIK, Ultimate Edition is not
an official flavor of Ubuntu in same way as Kubuntu, Xubuntu or
Edubuntu are. The reason I asked about not recommending it because a
new user will not know the difference.

Also this list does not prohibit mention of any distro. I just want
people to understand what kind of recommendations to give to what type
of people.

Regarding suggestion of broadband, I think that is the best way to
install new packages. If broadband is not an option then use should
use some other distros which come with bunch of CDs like Debian or
Fedora.
