[ubuntu-in] Broadband through ADSL USB Modem

Hi,

I've just installed Wubi Ubuntu on my WinXP pc. I've succesfully booted
through Ubuntu, and have somehow managed to configure my Beetel 100Cx modem
(i.e. upon startup, the modem blinks, and then the light stabilises). This
I've done by loading the firmware through the process described in a thread
in this forum itself.

However, I am at a loss as to how to configure the connection. How do I
exactly set up a connection now? I've tried modifying the options file, and
plugging in my passwords et. al into the pap-secrets file. However, all that
i get when i 'pon' is lines and lines of gibberish.

Can anyone guide me on the exact files to load or enter into the necessary
configuration files for the airtel connection to work? I'm a complete newbie
to Linux, so all instructions will have to be 'take two steps right, walk 3
steps forward' style. Is there a standard template for airtel that I can use
to replace the necessary files (pap-secrets, chap-secrets, provider,
options, etc.)?

Please help!

Regards,

Rishi
