[ubuntu-in] Thunderbird Problem (Slightly OT)

Hi

have a kind of irritating problem with Thunderbird

the font size when composing mail is really tiny (about size 8 or 9) and 
the color is grey.

tried checking the mozilla forum for help but no realy solution there.

Anybody on this list has a similar problem and solved it would like to know.

Already tried changing the prefs -but nothing seems to work

any solutions
