Yes, instead of upgrading, if you install Ubuntu after formatting your linux
partition, it used to pick up usernames from Windows partitions and create
Ubuntu users with the same name, it refuses to do recognize windows now.
Also grub used to add a link to Windows bootloader, it doesn't do that
anymore, just gives you the option to boot into Ubuntu, Ubuntu failsafe mode
and Memory Check.

from Vista bootloader but AFAIK windows bootloader can't chainload.

I guess I wasn't able to explain it properly, EasyBCD adds a link to Grub
Stage 2 in Vista bootloader.

functionality. If you want a pleasing looking bootloader try Fedora, or
you can manually modify the background of GRUB from Ubuntu too.

It's a matter of personal preference my friend, I prefer to have a right to
choose what bootloader I want to use. I don't really need those Blue/Green
bootloaders (looking better doesn't mean adding colours), all I want is a
'choice' to use what I want. I wish Ubuntu could give me that choice,
instead of me using third party windows softwares to get what I want.
