Just an update:

I bought the Lenovo below:

and installed Ubuntu. It works almost perfectly. I had to install the
restricted drivers for the Broadcom WiFi card but apart from that, it
works great, screen resolution, bluetooth et. al.

One question, the laptop comes with a few user configurable keys but I
don't know how to configure them. I tried using xbinkdkeys-config from
the repository but it keeps crashing on me.
