Hi,
I agree with your views. Still I am searching software phonetic tool for
kannada in ubuntu that is why. why I pointed out feature available in
MSwindows
Reason: In XP with help of phonetic input tool, I can type
Kannadalanguage easily -
whereas in Ubuntu, unfortunately there is no phonetic (except inscript and
KGP) whereas in other few of languages like Hindi has phonetic feature.
For me, Phonetic is very easy
(without training or practice) just like BARAHA whereas inscript or KGP are
difficult-which require dedicated practice!! You can test/compare
yourself in Phonetic typewriter layout with inscript typewriter layout.
I would more happy if Ubuntu had installed phonetic keyboad layout with
conversion feature for all Indian languages similar to baraha or MS
phonetic input tool. Whenever I want to type Kannada or Telugu I use
MSwindows where phonetic- conversion feature are available, till the date
similar Phonetic feature are available/introduced in UbuntuOS
Moreover Indian languages can be trained in phonetic (in english) to
convert scanned text into editable indian languages - ofcourse with few
errors.
regards
.
