[ubuntu-in] Google earth does not crash but does not work either

Hi

The previous few messages were about GE crashing my system (T60 =ATI
Graphics etc) however after rectifying that google earth starts up to
the first initial ge image and remains stuck there with the following
comment
ram at ram-laptop:~$ googleearth
Xlib:  extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".

SO any ideas what next
