[ubuntu-in] conflicts with installed package

When i was installing one packages it showed one error
" XML: parser perl module is required". than i downloaded
that .deb package called perl-modules_5.8.7-10ubuntu1_all.
when i was trying to install it using GDebi packages installer in my
ubuntu Dapper, It is showing one error that " conflicts with installed
package perl - modules". Perl-modules is present default in Ubuntu dapper.
but i think it is corrupted. I tried by re-installing it. But nothing works
How can i overcome those things.
