[ubuntu-in] uninstall an installation

hi

how can i uninstall an installation done my ./conf
make and make install

ive tried make uninstall
but returned with errors

somebody told me to remove all the installed stuff
myself
if so then how can i find at where all directories the
installed files goes to?
