Try Ubuntu 7.10 and providing a boot option by pressing F6 at the
installation menu, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions
For my new (2 month old) HP Pavilion tx1302au tablet I need to provide
the "noapic" option for it to install and boot... Fedora 8 and
openSUSE 10.3 work without the need to do this...
The most common options I've seen people needing to provide are
"noapic", "nolapic" and/or "noacpi". Hope that helps...
