[ubuntu-in] Using debian 4 packages in Ubuntu 7.04

Hi

Just received some dvd's of the entire Debian 4 repository. (courtesy)

So had 2 questions:

1. What are the essential differences between Debian & Ubuntu Packages.

2. How safe (for the system) if we install Debian packages on Ubuntu. -
in this case debian 4 onto ubuntu 7.04
