Hello Sanvi,

As you have already updated your system you must be using latest alsa
drivers. If not then upgrade  It is available at
ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/driver/ Check out latest one.

You should have build-essential and linux-headers-$(uname -r) already
installed. :) You can use apt-get to install them if not present.

Now reboot(or do a depmod and modprobe) and check if any luck!

If no luck try adding a line to /etc/modprobe.conf

options snd-hda-intel model=6stack-digout

If file not present then you need to create it.
Start alsamixer from terminal and check again!!
