[ubuntu-in] Suggestions needed please

Open Office must be installed in your system. Its the default package in
Ubuntu Releases.. 
Anyway, if you want to install it, 
apt-get install openoffice.org

Anytime you want to search for the packages, you can in terminal
apt-cache search package-name-or-partial-text
Find the list and apt-get install it.

In XFCE there is nothing different than GNOME, so whatever you did in
GNOME, you can do in XFCE too. Like you want to open Synaptics, the
package Manager, just check it in XFCE Menu, or in terminal open sudo
synaptics thats all.
The only difference between GNOME and XFCE is that, the environment,
look and windows management along with some core GNOME facilities are
not available, else you can use any software/packages installed just
like that. Either find the name in XFCE menu, or start it from terminal
or the XFCE run applet.

Also, you can have GNOME and XFCE all installed there, just switch to
XFCE from the login manager, select the sessions.
