[ubuntu-in] Installation Problems.

Friends,

It had been more than a motnh now, i am facing problems getting the
live Cd installed on my Machine. I had received the Original CD from
Shipit.

Details of my machine are for the present:

Microsoft Windows 98 4.10.2222 A
Upgrade using Full CD /SrcDir=G:\WIN98 /IQ /U:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
IE 5 6.0.2800.1106
Uptime: 0:03:48:54
Normal mode
On "A" as "a"

AuthenticAMD AMD Duron(tm) processor
224MB RAM
58% system resources free
Windows-managed swap file on drive C (3648MB free)
Available space on drive C: 3648MB of 4994MB (FAT32)
Available space on drive D: 4296MB of 4994MB (FAT32)
Available space on drive E: 2026MB of 4994MB (FAT32)
Available space on drive F: 1473MB of 4438MB (FAT32)

I had D: The partition specifically kept for linux installation. I had
even copied all files from the live CD to the Drive. Is their any
method to install from the file copied like we do in Dos for windows?
please help me out?

Yes I am a new be, dont know anything about linux, but want to switch
over from windows. Can some one help me out with the installation?

Problem with the live CD is out of 6 initial steps 4 gets completed,
in 5th the options for partion are displayed but clicking any option
(Ihad tried all ) hang the pc, and nothing happens.

Please some one help me out.
