Getting to know one another

Another ageing nerd but not much of an enterpreneur :-( I moved here
from South Africa two years ago where I was involved in migrating a
number of government departments to Ubuntu and generally active in the
promotion of FOSS in government. I am currently developing software
for the global District Health Information Systems project, which is
running in many countries in Africa and Asia, predominantly on Ubuntu
servers - but with some variation.

I don't get to many of the face-to-face meetings despite my best
intentions, but I am one of the mailing list moderators so I get to
feel useful occasionally.

My main IT interest in recent times is xml based document standards.
I am a (not very active lately) member of the OASIS ODF technical
committee and I'm hoping to get more involved with National Standards
Association Ireland. More 'bout that later ...

Cheers
Bob
