Hello Simon,

If you are Dublin based we do have monthly face to face fun
and informal meetings called Ubuntu Hour. These are held at the Trinity
Capital Hotel in Dublin on the last Wednesday of every month and start
at 6pm. To find your feet and get involved in a way that
suits you I'd recommend logging into the IRC channel (details given by
Rory) and/or attending an upcoming Ubuntu Hour and chatting.
There are knowledgeable Ubuntu community people around who will be
happy to steer you in the right direction once they hear about your
interests etc. If you are not Dublin based keep and eye on the mailing
list and the calendar on ubuntu-ie.org for details of upcoming Ubuntu
Hours around the country and other events.

Good hearing from you and I do hope to chat to you soon either on IRC
or at an Ubuntu Hour.

By the way I'd only rate myself as an average Home computer user.

Kind Regards,

Mike
