Ubuntu modem drivers

Posting this on behalf of Thomas as he can't get to the internet atm due 
to modem difficulties :)

Heya,

So basically I need to get the installed modem on a TOSHIBA satilitte A100 PSANNE working with ubuntu. I've used the scanmodem tool
recommended in Ubuntu help and have modemdetails.txt available if needed. I'm quite the noob so assume so in your instructions, i won't
be offended or anything!
