Ubuntu-ie Digest, Vol 15, Issue 2 - New Years Resolution

Hi All,

Just reading Mean Machines thoughts, it sounds like we are looking at
forming a committee, which probably would help to organise a bit better and
spread out the workload a bit more evenly for running a group like this.
Just would have to sort out how it would be selected (elected?).

Keep the monthly meet ups going in the longstone (I will get to one) & maybe
with regards to the IRC chats have a 'specific' purpose for each one (i.e.
this month we will be discussing how to...), but it can soon move on from
that depending on who is taking part.

Start organising for the 9.04 release, a 'pre-release' night for the RC and
then an afternoon/night for the final release with maybe a 'if you bring it,
we will build it' day to (attempt) install & set-up Ubuntu on new users
machines (with 3 options, Ubuntu, 'win-doh look' & 'Mac look').

We could also push Ubuntu as the best 'recession beating' OS.

OK, will stop now. So there are a few thoughts to add to 'proposed' ;-)

Peace and Be Wild

Keith Drummond
