Hi there

Thanks so much for providing that context for me :)

I will follow these pointers:

- A successful candidate will have some familiarity with git and be
comfortable with using git repositories as research tools.

- A successful candidate will take a step back when blocked on a problem
and look for other perspectives or angles on a solution. There's a lot
of resources for researching security problems and some are easier to
  use than others.

This does help, thank you.

I am busy with a mountain of research for the take home test, and thought just to ask here might be helpful, since I am subscribed to Ubuntu Hardened and the security discussions and I am grateful for the reply.

This does help, thank you.

Kind regards,

Hello Grant, I think revealing too much here would rather spoil the intention of our take home test. :) So instead I'll leave a few pointers that are hopefully helpful without giving up the game:

- A successful candidate will have some familiarity with git and be
comfortable with using git repositories as research tools.

- A successful candidate will take a step back when blocked on a problem
and look for other perspectives or angles on a solution. There's a lot
of resources for researching security problems and some are easier to
  use than others.

I hope this helps.

Thanks
