[ubuntu-hardened] ubuntu firewall

I've been trying to come up with a good end-user solution for an
ubuntu firewall.  I like RedHat's 'system-config-firewall' for
simplicity, and the default firewalls in place out of the box on
RHEL/Fedora for both ipv4 and ipv6 are not bad.  Does anyone on this
list have any good firewalling solutions that they suggest?  I know
Firestarter seems to be popular but I think it seems a bit limiting if
you actually understand iptables rules.

There was also a spec on this at UDS.  Was anyone on this list at that
spec too?  Any progress since?  (I was, but I haven't followed
