Jorge el modem que tengo es de telefonica (movistar), y solo trae los
drivers y el programa para ejecutarlo solo para windows, en la pagina
lixquestions.org, hay unos pasos que son los siguientes pero no me permite
hacerlos todos, se los envio y si me pueden explicar como se hace
exactamente se los agradeceria.

Having connected the cable to USB port, at Konsole and typing

the CDMA modem is known as ttyUSB0 and ttyUSB1. I try ttyUSB0 first. at
Konsole type:

ln -s /dev/ttyUSB0 /dev/modem

to create symbolic link to /dev/modem.


Then I open KPPP and click Configure...


-> Accounts -> New -> Manual Setup.

In Connection name I enter Smart. in Phone Number I add #777. then OK.

-> Modems -> New.

In Device -> Modem Name I enter Smart
in Modem -> Modem Commands at initialization string 2 I add Code:

ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0

select OK -> OK -> OK.

at KPPP dialog box,
in Connect to, I enter Smart
in Use Modem, I enter Smart
in Login ID, I enter Smart
in Password, I enter Smart

click Connect and you will have your modem displaying AT commands (or will
not) and finally display CONNECT along with status.

Open any web browser and start surfing the net.
