Πώς θα βρω γιατί καθυστερεί κάποια δευτερόλεπτα να ανοίξει η αρχική οθόνη;

Για να απαντήσω εν μέρει στο δικό μου μήνυμα:
(α)
Τα δύο πρώτα errors μετά από cat .xsession-errors, δηλ. τα

gnome-session[1738]: WARNING: Failed to start app: Unable to start 
application: Αποτυχία εκτέλεσης θυγατρικής διεργασίας 
"/usr/share/applications/skype.desktop" (Άρνηση πρόσβασης)
gnome-session[1738]: WARNING: Failed to start app: Unable to start 
application: Αποτυχία εκτέλεσης θυγατρικής διεργασίας "dropbox" (Δεν 
υπάρχει τέτοιο αρχείο ή κατάλογος)

...εξαφανίστηκαν αφού αφαίρεσα από τις αμφότερες δύο εφαρμογές από το 
startup apps: To skype που ούτως ή άλλως δεν ξεκινούσε από μόνο του 
(γιατί άραγε;) και το dropbox που... δεν είχα καν εγκατεστημένο.

Επίσης το error με το freeciv εξαφανίστηκε αφού απεγκατάστησα ένα 
πρόσθετο mod που είχα βάλει κάποια στιγμή.

Όμως το πρόβλημα εξακολουθεί να υπάρχει: Η αρχική φωτογραφία του 
background εμφανίζεται μετά από log in, μένει παγωμένη για 15 περίπου 
δευτερόλεπτα και τότε μόνο εμφανίζεται η μπάρα του unity και το σύστημα 
γίνεται λειτουργικό.

Παραθέτω το νέο cat .xsession-errors, μήπως κάποιος μπορεί να βοηθήσει 
με τα υπόλοιπα errors:
