New question #8775 on Ubuntu:

i found that my current wireless card was incompatible so i went to the following site to find a compatible card

i settled on the linksys compact wireless-g usb adapter, model number WUSB54GC
on the site it said it would  work right out of the box but it doesnt it will not connect
