GCC Πρόβλημα

Καλημέρα παίδες.

Έχω ένα θεματάκι, εγκατέστησα το Ubuntu 6.06 και παρόλο που βλέπω στο
synaptic το gcc εγκατεστημένο, όταν το τρέχω από κοσνόλα ή οταν κάνω
./configure δεν βρίσκει το gcc...

Τι περίεργο κι αυτο??....
