Regarding Xdiagnose, as someone who has had to use it to fix performance issues myself, I'd like to request that it be added to gnome-control-center along with the "disks" application if at all possible. Both of these applications offer many important settings such as disabling/enabling bootloader graphics and write cache(respectively) and much more. Apparently I had forgot to install the Intel CPU firmware updates.
