Ubuntu GNOME Wily Werewolf (15.10) Cycle.<br><br></div>Q: What is Ubuntu GNOME Community version 1.0 ?<br></div>A: Simply, it is what this project has for 2 years now from 2013 until now.<br><br></div>Q: Okay, then what about version 2.0 ? <br></div>A: I'll explain my vision and plan in details here :)<br><br></div><br><u><b>My Plan and Vision for version 2.0</b></u><b><br><br>Part A: Ubuntu GNOME Community Structure:<br></b></div><a href="https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1TiraLFY34GlZxUcSXPj0dJbfOfPjkh5EL5ndd0Cl3y8/edit?usp=sharing">Please, see this draft</a>.<br><ul><li><b>Leaders</b>: Those are the pillars of this project and community. Without them, it's nearly impossible, at least for now, to continue. Ubuntu GNOME has 2 leaders, <b>Tim</b> is the co-founder of Ubuntu GNOME and the technical/developer lead. <b>Ali</b> is the architect and the community builder/lead. They both complete each other and together, they simply manage Ubuntu GNOME and make sure it remains alive, the way everyone sees it now.</li><li><b>Sub-Teams Leaders/Drivers</b>: Ubuntu GNOME has sub-teams [1]. Each sub-team has a driver/leader. Each sub-team is dedicated to one and only area. More information can be found here [2]. Both Leaders and sub-teams drivers form the driving force for Ubuntu GNOME both the system and the community.</li><li><b>Core Members</b>: To become a core member, you should meet 5 requirements: <br><ol><li>You should be around for 2 cycles (12 months) minimum.</li><li>Very active.</li><li>Proven record of contributions.</li><li>Visible achievements.</li><li>Preferred but not a must: either Ubuntu and/or GNOME official member.</li></ol></li><li><b>Members</b>: To become a member, you need to meet 3 requirements:<br><ol><li>You need to be around for 1 cycle (6 months) minimum.</li><li>Active.</li><li>Have contributions</li></ol></li><li><b>Newcomers</b>: Anyone who would like to join Ubuntu GNOME and help.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><u><b>Target</b></u>: By achieving the above structure, part A will me marked as successfully implemented. This is the first and the most important step to move from version 1.0 to version 2.0.</p><br><b>Part B: Ubuntu GNOME Sub-Teams Internal Structure:</b><br></div>By achieving:<br><ul><li><a href="https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-gnome/2015-August/003393.html">https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-gnome/2015-August/003393.html</a></li><li><a href="https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-gnome/2015-August/003392.html">https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-gnome/2015-August/003392.html</a></li></ul><p>We shall accelerate the upgrade process. It is very important to have a solid foundation to build or enhance the building. We do have a good foundation but it is not yet solid enough for such move. We should be at 95% ready at least so we can safely move to version 2.0 and yes, it is not going to happen over night, that's for sure.</p><p><br></p><b>Part C: Ubuntu's Philosophy and Team Work.</b><br></div>It is very important to to apply the philosophy of Ubuntu[3]:<br><br></div><blockquote style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex" class="gmail_quote"><i>"I am what I am because of who we all are."</i></blockquote><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><br>And, also to apply:<br></div><div><br></div><blockquote style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex" class="gmail_quote"><div><i>"All of us are smarter than anyone of us."</i><br></div></blockquote><div><br></div><div>By applying these two concepts, we shall be a team of quality and by time, gain quantity. It means we will become very powerful in many areas. It's also mean if one of leaders, drivers and/or core members is/are away, the entire team and project won't be affected. So far, we haven't reached that level but I can see we're trying so that's the good encouraging part.<br><br><br><b>Part D: Understanding the whole concept:<br></b></div><div>If we understand all the above, then we're only one step away from upgrading and moving to Ubuntu GNOME community version 2.0 and without this step/part, it won't be possible to move.<br></div><div>We all need to understand that Ubuntu GNOME is a community project, not a one-man project. Everything in this universe, if it won't evolve, it will remain as it is. Chances are high it might die and vanish by time. Ubuntu GNOME is no exception. If we shall not improve ourselves and eventually our system, we will start to feel bored and that will create a deadly routine. If that happens, people will lost the interest to carry on and therefore, Ubuntu GNOME, sooner or later, will die both as a community and as a project.<br></div><div>Thus, this email and the idea discussed in this long email is very much needed, IMHO.<br><br></div><div><b></b></div><div><br><b><b>Part E: The Go Signal:</b><br></b></div><div>This is the final part. If we managed to reach this part/level, it m
