Looks like 14.04 has a problem with Broadcom bcm43xx wireless
support -- meaning it does not work. <br>
<br>
In a Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop using 13.10, wireless would work
using this scenario.<br>
<br>
sudo apt-get remove
bcmwl-kernel-source
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%">sudo apt-get
install
b43-fwcutter firmware-b43-installer</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%">and reboot.<br>
</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%">However, these
steps do not solve the problem with 14.04.<br>
</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%">As a side note,
using the live CD, Ethernet access worked. However, after the
install and reboot, the Ethernet interface also failed.<br>

I suspect these are upstream problems so just posting with the info.<br>
