Ubuntu GNOME 17.04: weird delay starting apps

Dear List,

I just installed the new 17.04 beta of Ubuntu GNOME 3.24 and it's
fantastic, thanks! But I've identified an odd issue when starting apps.
There seems to be a long delay of almost a second or more starting apps.
I've tried disabling all extensions and the problem still occurs.

When I click on gnome-terminal for example it takes 2 seconds to startup:

[$] time gnome-terminal

real 0m1.896s
user 0m0.092s
sys 0m0.004s

Checking the journal I see:
[$]

dbus-daemon[1430]: Successfully activated service 'org.gnome.Terminal'
systemd[1417]: Started GNOME Terminal Server.

It seems like the dbus-daemon is misconfigured as having 2s startup times
seems a bit unusual. Is this a known issue? How can I troubleshoot further?

My hardware is really recent too:

   - Intel® Core™ i7-6820HQ CPU @ 2.70GHz × 8
   - Intel® HD Graphics 530 (Skylake GT2)
   - SSD storage all the way

Thanks!

Alex G.S.
