Running an x2go server with Ubuntu Gnome

I suspect similar limitations apply to GNOME just like Unity, Both
desktops are OpenGL based compositors which don't probably play nice
with X2go and similar programs (I have never actually looked at that
particular one though)

Probably because something failed, forcing software rendering may help,
or it may not.

No that is harmless.

There is a library called VirtualGL, that can in theory help with
sharing GL based X connections over the network. NoMachince uses this,
but that is a mostly proprietry solution with free for personal use.
