malformed file when booting ubuntu gnome

First of all I'll like to thank the Ubuntu Gnome developers for the great
job they are doing. I've had this issue when starting Ubuntu since the
alpha 1. Basically, when I start the machine with a wired internet
connection, everything is fine.
However when ,I boot without wired connection and it has to start my
wireless internet connection, it displays an error message:
*"error: malformed file, press any key to continue"*.
This adds between 5 - 10 seconds to the whole bootup time. I have a
broadcom wireless adapter. The driver for this wireless adaptor is auto
installed during the installation. It's a proprietary driver and I prefer
to use that.
I don't have this problem on stock Ubuntu 14.04, Archlinux or Fedora 20.
