First of all, I'd like to thank you for asking 'before' doing anything :)
it is very very very important to communicate with Ubuntu GNOME Team via
this mailing list 'before' doing anything. Otherwise, we would be in a
messy situation and I personally don't want that at all.
Second of all, I'd highly recommend, suggest and advice to 'leave' the
website for the time being. What does matter + what really needs our
efforts and time is the 'Wiki' area.
While you will find some important announcement on the Website, you will
find all the valuable information on the Wiki. Let's all agree that our
Wiki is the one and only important and accurate source that 'our users'
will depend on then other channels like the Website. If you have noticed
already, almost all the links on the Website will send you back to the Wiki
Page.
PLEASE NOTE:
I am not saying the Wiki Area is the one and only source of information to
EVERYONE. I was very specific. I said "our users" :)
The Wiki Area is the F1/Help that everyone can access in seconds.
If they couldn't find what they were looking for then:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGNOME/ContactUs#Ask_for_Help_.26_Support
Having that said, again, I'd like the translation group (let's call it a
group not a sub-team) to start working on the Wiki Area of Ubuntu GNOME :)
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGNOME/WikiMap
It is what I talk about in the translations blueprint; the official channel

Please, go ahead and arrange with the LoCo Teams of how and where to host
the translated Wiki of Ubuntu GNOME :)
This is Phase 1.
Let's agree to work step by step so NO ONE burns out and everything will
work as smooth as possible ;)

As explained above, this is not going to happen for now. This is Phase 2 :)
