Few days ago, there was 'no' stable version for 14.04 LTS :)
That said, please run these commands on Terminal:

sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade -y && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
-y

then
sudo apt-get autoremove && sudo apt-get autoclean

I hope this will help :)
