Empathy and online accounts

Hi all,

Is there work underway to address the empathy and all that GOA and UOA
mess that seems to be polluting Ubuntu Gnome?

Pardon if some questions have been asked and answered. Just getting up
to speed after a return to Gnome after getting tired of Ubuntu and the
convergence strategy that seems to these days override all other things
- Like a decent desktop OS.
