Partition editor in install not working as expected

Not exactly. On the desktop install, there was an option to install
"Alongside 12.04.2". I chose that option which took me to the partition
manager (not gparted). The drive showed two blocks that I could drag to
resize. Below that was an option for gparted. This was the page that
appeared "stuck".
I tried to duplicate in the Vm so I could pull a screenshot, but I only
see the options listed on your screenshot.
