vsftpd et inetd

Est-il utile d'insérer une ligne telle que celle ci pour vsftpd dans /etc/inetd.conf?
# ftp           tcp     nowait  root    /usr/sbin/tcpd  /usr/sbin/vsftpd  
Je n'ai pas trouvé de doc qui justifie ou non l'utilisation inetd pour vsftpd
