Ouvrir un terminal. Taper dans le terminal : sudo dpkg --configure -a
Cela réparera l'installation défectueuse.
A noter que sous Jaunty. Ubuntu préconise openjdk-jre ou openjdk-jdk 
Conseillé d'installer sun java jre est contraire aux policies ubuntu pour la jaunty (Jaunty Jackalope 9.04).
