Hi Translators,

We are going to have an Ubuntu Global Jam [1] before the Karmic release,
and this time we are introducing Translation Jams in addition to
packaging and bug jams.

I've started a basic wiki page with information on running translation
jams [2] which I'll be updating in the next few weeks with more content.
Also, feel free to add anything there if you want.

We are starting the preparations to discuss the global event, and with
this purpose we'll be kicking off regular (monthly) meetings on IRC,
starting tonight. So basically, in a nutshell:

      * WHAT: Ubuntu Global Jam
      * WHEN: the 2nd to 4th October 2009 weekend
      * PREPARATIONS: Third Thursday of every month (next meeting is Thu
        18th June 2009) at #ubuntu-meeting on Freenode

I'd like to ask you for ideas for the translation jams. Some of the
things I can think of right now are:

* Explaining briefly your translations team's workflow in English and
include them in a wiki page so that localisation teams can learn how
others work, can share and learn.
* "How to translate" screencasts
* Translate the Jams/Translations pages once we have some stable content

So, let me know what you think.

And if you'd like to organize such an event, don't forget to read this
[3] and add your event to this [4] page.

Regards,
David.
