Instalé los drivers del escaner gracias a sus ayudas, muchas gracias, 
pero ahora me reconoce el escaner pero no el modelo.
Cuando le doy la instruccion sane-find-scanner me arroja lo siguiente:

   # result is different from what you expected, first make sure your
   # scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer.

Como ven me reconoce el dispositivo en el puerto USB pero no es 
compatible,  de hecho me lo presenta como DESCONOCIDO.
Pero estoy contento porque nos vamos acercando a la meta, seguiré 
buscando en internet a ver como soluciono eso.
De verdad muchas gracias y si alguien tiene una idea le agradecería mucho.
