De wmv a avi

Hola a todos...

Para descargar los streams de audio y video utilizo el "mimms", este
programita genera un fichero loquesea.wmv, y como no dispongo de
ninguna herramienta para poder editarlo, quisiera pasarlo a avi y
trabajar con el en Avidemux.

Pasarlo a avi utilizo el comando "ffmpeg" y los siguientes parámetros:

ffmpeg -i volcado.wmv -acodec mp3 -vcodec xvid -b 687 pelicula.avi

Pero me sale el error: "Unknown codec 'xvid'", y creo que tengo
instalados todos los paquetes que tienen de nombre "xvid", y no me
funciona.

Lo intento con el comando "mencoder", con los siguientes parámetros:
mencoder volcado.wmv -o volcado.avi -oac mp3lame -ovc xvid

Y falla, como podreis observar y me temo que por lo mismo...

Como puedo pasar de un formato wmv a avi?, hay alguna aplicación?
