Problemas con aptitude

Hola a todos

Al intentar actualizar el sistema e instalar nuevos programas con
aptitude y synaptic me encuentro con este error al iniciarse el
proceso de instalación:

(S'està llegint la base de dades ... dpkg: s'ha produït un error en
processar /var/cache/apt/archives/libsmjs1_1.5rc6a-1_i386.deb (--unpack):
 files list file for package `makedev' is missing final newline
S'han trobat errors en processar:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/libsmjs1_1.5rc6a-1_i386.deb
Procés aturat per haver-hi massa errors.
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

¿Qué solución tengo?
