I have tried the k3b.mo file from
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/+source/k3b/+pots/k3b/es/+export
and following instructions to copy this file to LC_MESSAGES directory,
it works, after copying it to its location, the accented spanish
characters appears well coded in k3b gui.

Thanks for fixing it.

Could this fix be added to security lucid updates?
