Well, the greater idea we want is to spread the ethics and values of open source and introduce them to teens. There are contests such as Google's GHOP for high school students that encourage them to participate in open source projects. That should be our long term goal. We can however, show the potential benefits of Ubuntu to students, such as free and *legal* software, security, no viruses, in addition to the endless opportunities for learning that free open source software provides. Another thing that I believe was missed in the discussion, is to include open source alternatives in the courses *already* organized by LVAD. For example, we can offer to teach Python (and maybe even use "Quickly" for building apps) instead of VB for the advanced levels of P4Y. I wouldn't rely on their labs or administration though, however I've not been there for two years, so I don't know how much things have changed, or the possibility of using FCI labs.
