Drupal Vs Joomla

Hi there,

I've never used Drupal as I do everything in Joomla! , both are open source
content management systems, both can fit for a wide variety of sites, both
have strong community and support behind them, so I guess what's done using
one can be done using another CMS. However, it all comes down to the
learning curve and what you expect from the CMS to perform in certain tasks
like content display and content categorising and third party support and of
course SEO ..

For example, the site of El dostor newspaper http://dostor.org/ was
previously done using Joomla! before they convert to Drupal .. Back then it
looked ridiculous and very repulsive but i think only because the one who
did it in Joomla! didn't know how to use it, even something simple as to
replace the favicon in the script root directory with the brand favicon
wasn't there ..

As a new comer to Joomla! I have some advices you may refer to :
Visit http://joomla.org/ and navigate through it for a quick or thorough
introduction.
See who's using Joomla! : http://community.joomla.org/showcase/sites.html
See what you can do using 3rd party extensions :
http://extensions.joomla.org
Regarding the looks and the layout check a template site like
http://www.joomlart.com/ or http://www.yootheme.com/ .. there are many more
..

Cheers
