The mirror will be on my computer, I will setup ftp server and also share the mirror folder on samba. Installers have to do the following
- add those lines in source.list (at the top)
deb ftp://192.168.1.230/ lucid main multiverse restricted universe
deb ftp://192.168.1.230/ lucid-updates main multiverse restricted universe
deb ftp://192.168.1.230/ lucid-security main multiverse restricted universe
or ...
mount the samba share to a local mount point. then add the following lines in source.list (at the top)
deb file:/path/to/mnt/point lucid main multiverse restricted universe
deb file:/path/to/mnt/point lucid-updates main multiverse restricted universe
deb file:/path/to/mnt/point lucid-security main multiverse restricted universe
then update apt, and start installing whatever you want. after finishing installing, please remove those lines from sources.list then update apt
Those steps are valid for both 32bit and 64bit installations
If anyone can provide an empty 100GB IDE harddrive, I can make this even easier
Thank you

I need to know how the network infrastructure will be, although the
fact that it will be small. I personally believe that we will really
need the mirror, but we haven't talked about how it will be configured
in terms of network view, if we can host a BIND server in order for
the hosts to resolve default mirrors domain names to our mirror IP
address, I don't know much about BIND, I am not sure if it would take
time in order to configure, it will be easier in order to install
packages, especially if there are many people and many packages being
installed.
