Elgamal has gained a Bachelor of

Doctorate <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctorate> degrees in Computer
Science <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_Science> from Stanford
University <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_University>. In 1985,
Elgamal published a paper titled *A Public key Cryptosystem and A Signature
Scheme based on discrete Logarithms* in which he proposed the design
of the ElGamal
discrete log cryptosystem

signature scheme <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ElGamal_signature_scheme>.
The latter scheme became the basis for Digital Signature Algorithm

a company which provides online payment services as well as the Advisory
Board of SignaCert,

In October 2006, he joined Tumbleweed
