Help with Edubuntu Live CD customization

There are two problems with this: 1) ext3 was a journaling file system as
well, so that isn't the solution, and 2) even if it doesn't corrupt it will
still mean immensely long periods of time to fix itself with chkdsk on
nearly every boot. Talk about hitting performance!
Power only runs about half the day, and it cuts off at unpredictable
times. These people aren't very familiar with computers, and I can't count
on the computers to be turned off when power fails.

As for Jesse's point concerning updating, I don't have internet access.
Remember? Updating really isn't an option.
Puppy Linux is an interesting option. I'll look into it.
In the meantime, I've found two different options for Live CD's.
Remastersys, which works well for creating an ISO image from a clean
install, and Ubuntu Customization Kit, which works fine but only if you are
modifying the same type of ISO that is installed on your computer.
